Key Assets Nova Scotia (KANS) provides alternate care along with a wide variety of programming and other services to support children, youth and families. Working in partnership with statutory bodies, KANS strives to develop creative and innovative trauma-informed programs for the provision of unique and supportive services, tailored to meet the needs of children, youth, and families, and designed to work towards improving outcomes. KANS is currently recruiting in Halifax, NS for the position of:

Program Supervisor
Permanent Full Time Position

At Key Assets, the Program Supervisor provides comprehensive and flexible support and supervision to front-line Child and Youth Care Workers in specialized living arrangements for young people with complex needs. The Program Supervisor will oversee the development and implementation of the therapeutic program, provide leadership and supervision to the Child and Youth Care team, liaise with other agencies and professionals, and maintain regular contact with senior management. The Program Supervisor will work to actively encourage and develop each young person’s social, physical, intellectual, cultural, emotional, and religious needs, or/and any other presenting need. The Program Supervisor shall perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education & Experience:
To be successful in this role, the candidate is required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years working with young persons with emotional/behavioral difficulties and/or developmental disabilities residing in alternate or foster care.
  • A minimum of one year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma and/or who demonstrate challenging behavior will be considered an asset.

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Child Abuse Registry Check granting clearance
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License
  • Drivers Abstract
  • Current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification
  • Valid Proof of Canadian Residency
  • Access to a personal vehicle and $2 Million Business Liability

Key Assets Offers:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience of $60,000 to $67,884 (Current Salary is under review)
