Part of a global network, Key Assets Nova Scotia is a leading non-profit, therapeutic child and youth care provider with a reputation for developing new and innovative services and collaborating with government and community partners. As part of an international collaborative we have the benefit of sharing best practice across regions to support creative approaches that lead to successful outcomes.

Here in Nova Scotia, we run government-licensed programs for young people who are in the care of the Province. Key Assets Nova Scotia has developed a culture of excellence, centered around the unique strengths and needs of each young person we serve. When we say we’re youth-centered, we mean it. It’s not just a slogan on a wall. Each young person is our client, which means they’re the person we are here to serve. Therefore, 100% of what we do is based on a completely individualized approach to care, that has no room for the convenience of a one-size-fits-all approach.

At Key Assets Nova Scotia, we also believe strongly in our ethical obligation to measure outcomes. Without objective information about the healing and progress being made by youth in our care, we don’t know what to change or improve, and that’s simply not good enough for our young people. We are committed to helping improve the lives of the youth we are so privileged to work with. If we’re not able to see for sure that we’re making a real difference, then we change what we are doing. As noted above, being youth-centered is more than a slogan on our wall.
